| Hello Class, For tonight's assignment, read the following article: http://www.gamblingorigins.com/gambling-history-dice.shtml (Copy the link into the address bar of a new window.) You are required to post a response to this article on this forum. In your post, answer the following question regarding the article "Dice in Ancient Times": WHAT is the most interesting fact you learned about dice or gaming in the article? Why do you feel this way? Explain. Write at least three sentences. This does count as a homework grade, and remember, the best response from each class will earn a bonus point on the next quiz. If you have any questions, please message me on the forum or email me at nweaver@loyalsocklancers.org. Thanks, guys! I'm really looking forward to reading your responses. - Mr. Weaver

| The most intresting thing I learned was if you won you could sell the peorson that losed for a slave. I think it is weird that they could do that back then. I think they took the game of dice to far. | |

| The most interesting thing that I learned from the History of Gaming is that so many cultures played that game. Even if it cost their freedom or money. | |

| the most interesting fact in the article for me was the part about Ancient Egypt. This was the most interesting because I learned something about Egypt that I didn't know. I didn't know that Rameses was portrayed playing a dice game. This to me was the most interesting fact.javascript:emoticonp(' ') | |

| I think the thing with the gambling slavery because it's wierd someone would do that. I would never do that and i wonder why they would do that. I guess it has something to do with the gods like Mr. Weaver said in class today. -Ryan Schrimp | |

| I thought that, when the players run out of money they stake their personal freedom so that the winner could sell the loser into slavery was pretty interesting because they were that much into the game they would do that to someone. thats crazy. -micaela | |

| In my opinion i thought it was very interesting how they used dice games to make their decisions. They believed it was the gods telling them what to do. But In my opinion it's all chance and luck. Not how I would want to live my life exactly. That is what I thought the most interesting fact about dice was. | |

| [i]I think that the most interesting thing is that dice, a thing that is very common and fun, was only invented to ease their minds from business. CRYSTAL GRAY | |

| I think that the most interesting part is how they actually based their futures on a simple game of dice. You think they would figure out that they could very well lose what they have just because of the game of chance. | |

| I think it was interesting that someone was willing to sacrifice their life into slavery based on the roll of the dice. Like most of you, I found this to be one of the more interesting comments in the article. It is surprising how dice were viewed as magical. | |
